Okra \Vendakkai Usli


How to prepare this Okra Usli

For this recipe you need

15 nos of Okra
1 Onion
1 tsp of mustard and urad dhal
A sprig of curry leaves
1/2 tsp of turmeric powder
1/2 tsp of chilli powder
1 tsp of coriander powder
Salt
2 tsp of oil

For Grinding you need

Half cup of channa dal soaked in water for about 2 - 3 hrs.
2 - 3 red chillies.
Grind them to a paste (not vey smooth) without adding water.

Preparation

Heat oil in a pan, add mustard , when they stop spluttering ,add urad dhal and curry leaves.

Add chopped onions saute them well until they turn translucent.

Now to this add Okra, turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder , salt and Mix gently.

When Okra is half cooked add the paste.

Now saute them well until the chana dal gets well cooked.

Tasty Okra /Vendakkai Usli is ready to be served...........

Serve it hot with rice and enjoy...................:)

  1. The recipe looks like paruppu usili aruna..! That's with beans and this one is different with okra..! Will surely try it..! Try participating in my FIL-Milk event!
