Dal Bonda

These are perfect , wonderful and tasty evening snacks with coconut chutney as a perfect side dish.



For this Bonda you need

1 cup of  whole urad dal(without skin)
1/2 cup of Thuvar dal
1 onion
2 green chillies
A sprig of curry leaves
1 tsp. of cumin and pepper
Salt to taste
Oil for frying.

Preparation

Soak urad dal and thuvar dal seperately for an hour.

Heat 1 tsp. of oil in a pan.Saute the cumin and pepper. Keep it aside.

Grind the urad dal with very little water until fluffy.

Grind the thuvar dal coarsely. Mix with the grinded urad dal.Chop the onions and green chillies. 

Add the onions, green chillies, cumin ,pepper, curry leaves along with salt and mix it well in the batter.

Heat oil in a pan. Wet your right hand and make small ball. Drop it in oil.

Fry them in medium flame until they turn golden brown .

Hot crispy bonda's are ready to serve...



Serve it hot with coconut chutney....


OPTIONAL: We can all add some cashews and coconut for more richer taste ;-)

  17. Yummy yummy bondas..... I would give a fortune for them... because now where I stay there is not even one single petty shop that makes them... Before when I resided near my mom's place..... WOW! An aunty there made yummy bondas & pakodas... That taste I dont think I can find anywhere else.... So yummy they were..... U just took me back to that aunts shop....
